She has shaped not only this gathering, but a generation of women rising to carry this work forward—including both of us, whose lives and work have been deeply impacted by her. Billie continues to pass on the wisdom that was nearly forgotten, reviving what was lost and restoring what was taken. Her legacy lives on in every part of this movement.

Through The Hive Collective, Billie offers mentorship, training, and community for birth workers committed to truth-based, woman-centered care. It’s a space where critical thinking and physiological birth are honoured, and where sovereignty is lived, not just spoken. As the founder of Birth Trauma Ontario she provides education, advocacy, and resources for families navigating the aftermath of difficult or traumatic birth experiences. Her work calls out systemic harm while offering a path toward healing and reclamation.
